Yes, the possibilities and being attuned to ancestral voices through postures.

I find it exquisitely irresistible to think that postures are not just political projects but portals to potentially new possibilities. Something about the rectilinearity of the modern subject forecloses other species of thought, other ways of making sense alongside this world. Perhaps another way to say that is that being upright is a frequency of some kind that tunes out other sounds.

I discern this to be true now because my body hurts, my clarities are opaque, my internal guidance systems are dancing all over the place, and the stable self-image I have long cultivated is springing leaks and sprouting mushrooms from its armpits. And yet the ancestral keeps urging: "Stay there. We can only think with you when your body is bent out of shape."

I use clay slab as my canvas, making marks with organic and found pattern and adding colour.
Clay help me form meaning from experience. I lean into this embodied process as a way of coming to know patterns I carry.

One of my rustic style hand built large coffee mugs out of the kiln and gifted. Made with love, embossed with care. Coffee tastes better in a handmade❤️

I get as much joy adding water to allow the clay to be reconstituted back into its elastic form as I do in creating something. I become part of this material that I am working with and caring for. This timely and iterative process of salvaging and reusing clay speaks deeply to caring for earth and connection to the more than human.

Its been a good day for recycling clay . Hoping to retain its plasticity for throwing more pots. All the reclaimed parts are of value, nothing wasted or discarded.

Just out of the kiln at on recent wheel thrown ceramics. These are bowls that I can be nourished from. I’m so obsessed with this colour combo of
Deepfire Brick and Blue Midnight.
Clay allows me to connect to and stay with, to feel, to embrace all the emotions my body is sensing. To see this being transformed into something beautifully imperfect with its unique markings is therapeutic and affirming of difference.

Today an inquiry process of many stencilled layers of paint around voice, led to a participant asking for his work to be shared. When this happens I post! After some time spent slowly seeing in different perspectives, the art revealed an aliveness to the artist and detailed deep resonances with his initial inquiry. I love the moments where an insight from art is received with such joy.
Like carefully peeled back layers of wallpaper or paint to reveal new detail. Thank you kind artist for your share.

Bringing nature indoors today to co-create a mandala. First finding resonant natural objects and noticing qualities about them and then mindful placement with another object. The mandala in all its organicly created happenings is perfect and here it become a sacred held space. A time to allow a spaciousness in a very difficult, challenging and busy week, and where our breath can slow down and feel light and lifting.
