October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

At Women’s Health Torquay, we’re here to support women at every stage of their health journey and that includes raising awareness about breast cancer.

While it can occur at any age, risk increases as we get older. The good news is that early detection and advances in treatment have greatly improved outcomes.

A few important reminders:
* Get to know the normal look and feel of your breasts, and see your GP if you notice any changes.
* Regular mammograms are recommended every two years for women aged 50–74, and can be arranged earlier if needed.
* Staying active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol can all help lower risk.

Our GPs can support you with breast checks, screening referrals, risk assessments, and ongoing care.
You don’t have to face it alone, we’re here with you every step of the way.

🌼Why have our Patient Fees Increased? 🌼
We understand that any fee increase can be frustrating, and we have worked hard to keep our fees low.
Our fees have changed to keep up with the rising costs of providing high-quality care - including staffing, equipment & clinic operations.
Unfortunately, the Medicare rebate hasn't kept pace with these costs, meaning we need to adjust our fees to continue delivering the safe, timely care you expect and deserve.
Please discuss your fees with your GP if you have any further questions.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support 🩷
