Dr Shae O’Dowd will be offering Saturday appointments from Saturday 4th October, and is happy to be able to increase access to care & treatment for those who work full time during the week, are caring for children, or have various other reasons that mean attending an appointment during the week is often not possible.

It’s been a wonderful couple of weeks welcoming our new Acupuncturist Shae, who’s already started treating patients at the clinic.

Having recently made the big move from Alice Springs, he’s enjoying exploring & settling into life down here on the beautiful Surf Coast.

While serving communities in remote and regional areas, he’s developed the ability to care for patients of all ages and stages of life. Shae is described as a dedicated, warm, and compassionate practitioner, who is deeply committed to helping people achieve better health and balance through holistic, individualised & non-judgemental care, utilising the highly effective tools that Chinese Medicine has to offer.

As an AHPRA registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner & Acupuncturist who’s been practising for more than 18 yrs, he has extensive clinical experience and frequently works with patients seeking support for:

Shae is an AHPRA registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner & Acupuncturist with over 18 yrs of experience. He has extensive clinical experience and frequently works with patients seeking support for:

In his spare time Shae greatly enjoys anything out and about in nature. Be it watching birds, walking in forests, or along the rock pools of a river. You can often find him exploring ‘off the beaten track’ places while travelling locally and abroad, and has a keen interest in learning and understanding different cultures.

Shae begins offering treatments at Torquay Chinese Medicine from Sep 9th, and you’ll find him in clinic on Wednesdays & Thursdays 9am - 6pm

We are so excited & happy to announce a new Acupuncturist is joining our team!

Shae is an AHPRA registered Acupuncturist & Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner with over 18 years experience, including an internship at Chengdu Hospital of TCM, in China.

He is passionate about Chinese Medicine and contributing to the health and emotional wellbeing of communities. Having run his own clinic in Alice Springs for almost 15 years, he has also worked as a locum doctor at clinics in the Grampians and the Perth Hills, volunteered at village hospitals in India, and established free community acupuncture clinics in Kinglake for bushfire victims, post Black Saturday.

While serving communities in remote and regional areas, he has developed the ability to care for patients of all ages and stages of life.

Shae has extensive experience in treating everything from musculoskeletal pain to mental health (stress/anxiety/PTSD), sleep issues, restoring function after injury, metabolic issues / low energy, and a wide range of other health conditions.

Shae is described as a dedicated, warm, and compassionate practitioner. He is deeply committed to helping people achieve better health and balance through holistic, individualised & non-judgemental care, utilising the effective tools that Chinese Medicine, with it’s thousands of years’ history, has to offer.

This week, we were honoured to receive a visit from representatives, Ms Aoi & Ms Ayano, who travelled all the way from Japan! 🇯🇵

The aim of their visit was to connect, strengthen relationships, and better understand the clinical environment in Australia. We were very happy to provide insights into the application of Seirin products in our day-to-day practice at our clinic.

Seirin are internationally renowned for manufacturing the HIGHEST QUALITY acupuncture needles, which we are proud to use in our clinic and have done for many years now. If you’ve ever had a Cosmetic Acupuncture Facial at our clinic, you would have experience how baby fine, smooth, & comfortable their needles are. We rely on them for all of our facial treatments, and regularly use them for treating more sensitive body acupuncture points, to enhance patient comfort.

A big thank you to Johnny, Steve, & Carmen from , who arranged the visit and enjoyable lunch catchup afterwards. It was wonderful to meet you all!

Our treasured Acupuncturist, Jing, returned this week from her overseas adventures ! 🏔️ ⛰️

‘Tibet took my breath away—the towering Himalayas, crystal-clear lakes, and endless blue skies, felt like a dream. Facing Tibet’s high altitude was my first battle—shortness of breath taught me to slow down, breathe deeper, and respect my body’s limits.’

She has been back in clinic this week, but in true Jing style, she was fully booked out and hit the ground running!

‘Don’t worry boss, I can take it! but also, I’m grateful for the coffee!’ 💪🏼 ☕️

She’s now back offering treatments
