💛 R U OK? Day at Ocean Mist 💛

This year on R U OK? Day, we spent a beautiful afternoon together - baking treats, crafting, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

At Ocean Mist, we’re lucky to share a community where we check in with one another every day. But we also know that not everyone has that support. Sometimes a simple act - like cooking with a friend or making art side by side - can open the door to a conversation someone truly needs.

Today is a reminder to reach out, listen, and connect. Because asking “Are you OK?” can make a world of difference. 💛

What an incredible celebration we had for Father’s Day!
Our Super Hero–themed luncheon was a full house filled with laughter, love, and fantastic dress-ups. Residents, families, and staff enjoyed a delicious feast while showing off their best capes, masks, and heroic smiles.

It was the perfect way to honour the amazing dads, granddads, and father figures in our Ocean Mist community. Thank you to everyone who joined in and made the day so memorable—a super time was had by all! 🥳✨

🐾✨ Last month we celebrated International Dog Day here at Ocean Mist - and what a pawsome time it was! From arts & crafts workshops to puppy visits and cuddles, we spent the day honouring our furry friends and all the joy they bring. If only every day could be International Dog Day! 💙🐶

🌟 Ocean Mist’s Got Talent – Showtime Success! 🌟

What an afternoon of talent, laughter, and community spirit at our Ocean Mist’s Got Talent show! 🎤🎶

From heartfelt poems and soulful singing to ukulele tunes, line dancing, spoons, and even some surprise duets - our residents and friends truly shone on stage. The room was filled with applause, smiles, and plenty of joy as each act brought something special to the spotlight.

We are so proud of everyone who participated and made the day such a wonderful success. The Ocean Mist stage is alive and well… and we can’t wait for the next show! 🎭✨

We were treated to a fabulous presentation from Syd Sherrin, who shared his family’s incredible history with the iconic Sherrin football and their deep connection to the Collingwood Football Club.

From the origins and production of the famous football to treasured family stories, Syd brought history to life with passion and humour. The audience was captivated from start to finish, with plenty of questions, laughs, and fond football memories shared along the way.

It was a truly memorable afternoon enjoyed by all - thank you, Syd, for bringing such a special piece of sporting history to Ocean Mist!

Residents from Ocean Mist were invited to join the weekly Intergenerational Play Group in the Torquay community and what a wonderful morning it was!

Laughter, stories, and playful moments filled the room as residents and little ones came together to share time, smiles, and joy. These special connections bridge generations, bringing so much warmth to everyone involved.

A big thank you to the Torquay community for welcoming us - we’re already looking forward to the next visit!
