Our Colposcopy Clinic is provided by specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Lucinda Pallis, every Wednesday morning at Cranbrook Medical.
What is a Colposcopy?
A colposcopy is an examination with a microscope to check the health of the cervix, v***a or va**na after an abnormal Cervical Screening Test (CST), abnormal bleeding or unusual appearance of the cervix or v***a.
The aim is very early detection of conditions which might progress to cervical cancer. Very few people who attend for colposcopy have any serious medical condition and only a small proportion need any further treatment.
Who is the Colposcopy Clinic for?
Solely those who need colposcopy. This is not a general gynaecology service. If treatment is required this can be arranged as a public or private patient. Patients will be asked to see their referring doctor for ongoing care and follow up.
To access the Colposcopy Clinic, you will require a referral from your GP. Referrals should be emailed to referrals@cranbrookmedical.com.au
