This week we recognise and celebrate the strengths, talents and unique perspectives of people who are neurodivergent. Neurodiversity acknowledges that differences in the way people think, learn and process information, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other neurological variations, are a natural part of human diversity.

Awareness is about more than understanding, it’s about inclusion, acceptance and support. When we create environments that are flexible, respectful and accommodating, everyone benefits.

If you or your child would like support, assessment or guidance, our GPs are here to help with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Let’s continue building a community that values different ways of thinking and learning. 💙

Over 75? Don’t Forget Your Driver Licence Medical

In Queensland, drivers aged 75 and over are required to hold a current medical certificate to continue driving. To avoid delays or interruptions to your licence, we recommend booking your appointment early, especially as appointments can fill quickly.

A Driver Licence Medical allows your GP to assess your overall health and ensure you are safe to remain on the road. Staying organised helps you maintain your independence and peace of mind.

If you or a family member are turning 75, or your medical certificate is due for renewal, contact our clinic to arrange your appointment.

We’re here to help you stay safe, confident and driving with confidence. 🚘

Obesity is a complex health condition that affects many Australians and increases the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers and joint problems. In Queensland and across Australia, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is one of the most important steps we can take to support long-term wellbeing.

A healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean quick fixes, it’s about sustainable habits:
🥗 Balanced, nutritious eating
🚶‍♀️ Regular physical activity
😴 Quality sleep
🧠 Looking after your mental wellbeing
👩‍⚕️ Regular health checks with your GP

Small, consistent changes can make a big difference over time. If you’re concerned about your weight or would like support with nutrition, exercise or managing related health conditions, speak with your GP. We’re here to provide personalised, evidence-based guidance in a supportive and respectful environment.

Cranbrook Medical has introduced a new ABI (Ankle-Brachial Index) machine, a non-invasive diagnostic tool used to assess peripheral artery disease (PAD). This is particularly important for patients with diabetes or lower leg ulcers.

The ABI machine compares blood pressure in the ankles and arms to determine the severity of vascular blockages. By incorporating automated ABI assessments into our care plans, we can detect PAD more efficiently and ensure appropriate treatment protocols are implemented. For more information, speak with your GP or the nursing team at Cranbrook Medical.
