🌡️ HOT WEATHER FACT: Alcohol can stay in your system longer in summer — here’s why! 🍻⚠️
Most people have no idea how much the heat changes the way alcohol affects the body.
But with December parties, long days, and extreme NQ temperatures, this is something every worker should know:

🔥 1️⃣ Dehydration slows down alcohol removal
In hot weather, your body loses water fast.
Less water = alcohol becomes more concentrated.
More concentrated = it can take longer to clear from your system.
Yes — even the next morning.

🔥 2️⃣ Heat makes alcohol hit harder
The body is already stressed by the heat.
Add alcohol and you get:
× slower reaction times
× reduced focus
× higher fatigue
Even with the same amount of alcohol, the heat can make you feel (and test) more impaired.

🔥 3️⃣ Your body prioritises cooling, not processing alcohol
When it’s hot, the body diverts energy to staying cool.
This can reduce the liver’s ability to break down alcohol efficiently.
Result: alcohol stays around longer than you think.
