Some pictures from the NQRV family fishing event supporting the 3 Brigade legacy Fishing competition.
A few fish caught a lot were definitely scared a bit but the mud crabs were on so a great feed of mud crabs at the end of the day.
Thank you to everyone who attended was a great day and weekend up at Balgal Beach.
Also make sure to pop up and grab a feed from the fisherman’s landing fish and chip shop near the boat ramp great feed.

I have just received and attached the flyer with all the information on the 3 BDE legacy competition being run by 3 CER.

This has all the information and timings for the event.

NQRV will be running a family fishing day during the competition for those people who would like to participate and may not have equipment or for those who would like to come down for a fun activity.

Day and timings TBC.

NQ RV will also be entering 2 teams possibly 3 depending on numbers interested to go chase some fish in the boats.

we will be reaching out to see who may want to get involved closer to the event.

Well what a year for NQ Reeling Veterans.
Firstly I would like to thank all committee members,Volunteers and Sponsors for your help and support this year.

We have had a massive year with so many great events and met so many great new people through these events our fishing trips and family fishing days.

Due to the growth NQRV has had in the past couple of years we have had to separate into our own entity.

A monumental amount of behind the scenes work has occurred this year and continues as we become our own separate arm of Reeling Veterans.

This has seen us become our own incorporated association.
And all the associated non for profit and other legislative compliance requirements for us to operate independently within QLD.

Due to some generous donations from businesses and people we have also managed to also increase our assets to include two new boats for the new year.

This will help us to increase our fishing trips and events in the new year but will obviously require us to increase our fundraising and skipper base to run and maintain these vessels.

Another major change will be that NQRV is in the process of registering our vessels with A.M.S.A
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
It requires our skippers to obtain a coxswain level 3 certification to operate our vessels.
And we will have to operate under federal legislation.
This will assist us in many areas primarily to gain funding,and reduce registration and insurance costs.
It also gives us a clear framework and standard to work by.

We will be reaching out to see who is interested in becoming a skipper in the new year and training up some great new people to join the team.

We still have a bit to go before we are fully operational but we will have land based events kicking off in January partnering with some great local organizations.

Again thank you to all that have helped and been involved this year on a personal note it has not been a easy one and I personally appreciate the help and support I have received from people both on a personal level and with NQRV.

On that note this time of year can be a difficult time for people please check in on each other and please reach out to someone if you’re struggling day or night.

I wish you all a very merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the new year.
