3 Laundry Baskets are done ✔️, writing ✍️ poems are so much fun.. ©️ Lynda D Campbell

Three laundry baskets sat in a row,
Quiet keepers of all we don’t show.
One held laughter in crumpled sleeves,
One caught tears in forgotten weaves,
And one just waited, patient and low.
The first was bold, with colours bright,
Overflowing from day to night—
Socks that danced and shirts half-worn,
Echoes of mornings rushed and torn,
A life lived loud, in soft delight.
The second sighed with heavier grace,
Holding burdens we can’t replace—
A sweater worn on a lonely day,
A dress from when love slipped away,
Memories stitched in every space.
The third was quiet, neat but bare,
A hopeful kind of empty there—
Ready for change, for something new,
For fresh beginnings we push into,
A gentle promise floating in air.
And side by side, they seemed to say,
“We carry your life in our own small way—
The chaos, the calm, the yet-to-be,
All folded in vulnerability…
Even laundry has something to say.”
