Sometimes EMDR sessions feel like we’ve low-key turned into magicians…
Like… no wand, no cape…
just sitting there thinking,
“did that really just happen?”
Because one minute, a memory feels heavy, stuck, overwhelming…
and the next… something shifts.
Not by forcing it.
Not by talking someone out of it.
But by letting the brain do what it’s actually designed to do.
And as a therapist, you feel that moment.
The pause.
The exhale.
The softening.
When a belief like
“I’m not safe”
starts turning into
“I’m okay now.”
And you’re sitting there trying to stay professional like…
yes, of course, very standard…
while internally you’re like
THIS IS INSANE.
That’s EMDR.
For clients, it’s not about having the perfect words
or explaining everything in detail.
It’s noticing what comes up,
while your brain processes in the background.
And over time…
the things that used to feel overwhelming
start to feel like something that happened
not something you’re still living in.
That shift…
never gets old.
This is why we’re so passionate about EMDR at Deep Speak.
Because when it works, it doesn’t just help…
it transforms.
