Connecting with the client’s needs is the highest priority. By focusing on the client and what results they want to see gives Karen and her team a clear picture of how and what treatments need to be followed. The client's time is as equally important as their budget. Karen seems to be so connected with the client needs they leave feeling excited and reassured they can achieve results without the burden of expensive products and long daily routines.
Karen’s experience working with and alongside a number of Medical Practioners in the skin care profession, throughout her 30 years, has given her an advantage creating affordable routines to suit the individual. Not to mention her passion for teaching, which was recognised after she accepted a Beauty instructors position in Melbourne, and then went on to develop a number of 2 day workshops used in a number of private Beauty Schools. The workshops gained Karen credibility in the Academic field giving her the opportunity to teach at a number of Beauty colleges throughout Australia.
One area of Beauty which has become a passion for Karen is teenage skin care. There is no point giving a teenager the best possible routine, supported with a range of products which is adding extra financial burden to the family budget, when the teenager isn’t going to put the time into the daily routine.
There are too many parents who have little to no knowledge of what to do for their child’s skin issues. Wanting to help ease the peer pressure for their child they turn to the only thing they know - Dr’s who generally write a script to treat the current problem or possibly refer the client onto a Specialist. All costly and in many cases the results are not long lasting. Therefore, the cycle continues and becomes one of those situations too many people find themselves in, not knowing how to stop. A lot of parents Karen speaks to often express guilt, frustration and a sense of despair not being able to help their child with something that can potentially leave emotional scars. Many parents are governed by the budget, which also adds to the guilt and frustration. Karen has a way of reassuring the parent while helping the child to progress in the desired direction.
So with the shopping trolley noise being replaced by the occasional Cockatoo passing over, a grand child’s giggles, maybe the sound of some eggs being laid or Zuse l, the resident Staffy, letting us know the goanna is stealing our eggs, the environment is welcoming, embracing and authentic.
