For a long time, I thought the answer was to keep working harder on the plane.

Better offers.
Better systems.
Better marketing.
More classes.
More effort.

But what I’ve learned over the last six months is this:

If the pilot is exhausted, doubting herself, overthinking every move, and carrying too much alone, the plane doesn’t fly well no matter how good the machine is.

The deeper work has been self-leadership.

Make decisions and fail faster.
Hold higher standards.
Sit with discomfort instead of avoiding it.
Back myself when things feel uncertain.
And stop waiting to ask for help.

A supportive team does more than help with tasks.
They help you see what’s possible when your own thinking is too small, too tired, or too cautious.

They lend perspective.
Belief.
Accountability.
And sometimes they simply remind you that you are capable of more than you are currently allowing.

The studio is changing because I am changing.

And the truth is, leadership asks more of you than strategy ever will.

It asks you to become someone stronger while still staying yourself.

That part is not always comfortable.

It’s not a flexibility problem.

It’s fascia.

Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, bone and organ in your body. It responds to how you live.

Sit a lot? It adapts.
Rush all day? It adapts.
Hold stress in your shoulders and jaw? It adapts.

Over time it becomes dense along the lines you repeat most.

So when you occasionally stretch, it feels good for a moment… but nothing really changes.

Because fascia doesn’t reorganise from random effort.

It changes from consistent, intelligent movement.

Slow loading.
Spirals and rotations.
Strength in length.
Breath that actually reaches your diaphragm.

And here’s the hopeful part.

Fascia is incredibly responsive.

When you move well, in multiple planes, with steady breath… it hydrates. It glides. It softens.
Your lymphatic system flows better.
Inflammation reduces.
Your nervous system settles.

You don’t just feel “stretchy.”

You feel clearer. Lighter. More at home in your body.

This is why structured yoga works.

Not random classes.
Not pushing harder.
Not punishing yourself for being stiff.

Just intelligent, progressive movement that gives your body direction.

If your body has been feeling tight, heavy, or slightly foreign lately… there is nothing wrong with you.

Your tissue is simply waiting for better input.

And yoga done properly can give it exactly that.

I didn’t start yoga because I was spiritual.

I started because Madonna did it.

I was 21. Training twice a day. Thought I was fit. Thought I was strong.

Then I walked into an Ashtanga class and could barely hold myself up.

Serious injuries. Broken wrists. Pins, Plates and screws.

It was humbling.

But at the end of that class, lying on the floor, I felt something I hadn’t felt in a long time.

Calm.

Clear.

Like I’d come home to myself.

That feeling changed everything.

It took me into Teacher Training in Glasgow.
To India.
To the LA, Miami, New York, Edinburgh, London, Bali, Tokyo.
Into decades of study.
Into building a studio.

Twenty-six years later, I’m still practising.

Still refining.
Still studying.
Still teaching.

Not because it looks good.
Because it works.

And when I came back to Townsville, I wanted a place that honoured the depth of this practice.

So I built it.

Yoga didn’t just stretch me.

It rebuilt me.

And that’s okay.

This space is for curious, caring and courageous people who:

• Want structure
• Value guidance
• Care about depth
• Are willing to practise consistently

It’s not about proving anything.

It’s about building something that lasts.

If you’ve tried yoga before and it didn’t stick, it probably wasn’t because you lacked discipline.

You may simply not have been shown a clear path.
That’s what we do here.
