Bolstering our aerial crime-fighting capability in North Queensland 🚁

We’re delivering two new POLAIR helicopters for Townsville to restore safety in North Queensland.

The POLAIR team of Tactical Flight Officers operate across a large area, from Proserpine to Ingham and west to Charters Towers, which:

🚁 significantly bolsters the ability of police to respond to critical incidents
🚁 tracks stolen vehicles
🚁 responds to serious domestic incidents
🚁 searches for missing persons
🚁 assists with the arrest of offenders in the Townsville district.

It’s all part of our plan to restore safety where you live and make Queensland safer.

Today marks the first day of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Prevention Month 💜
