We’re so excited to announce that the beloved Hervey Range Tip Shop is reopening 💚

Council has teamed up with Outlook Australia, the country’s largest waste management social enterprise, to bring fresh energy to the space.

🛠️🌿 Not only will you be able to hunt for pre-loved treasures, but the new-look Tip Shop will also feature a repair workshop and plant nursery.

🏥 Our emergency departments remain open and ready to care for the community during this weather event.

However, Townsville University Hospital is currently experiencing increased demand for our services.

Please be assured that no patient will be refused care at any of our facilities.

However, if your condition is assessed as less urgent, you may experience a longer wait.

For non-life-threatening conditions, you can visit the Townsville Medicare Urgent Care Clinic at Eastbrooke Medical Centre at 86 Thuringowa Drive, Thuringowa Central, or you can access confidential health advice over the phone by calling 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84).

If you have queries about appointments booked next week, please do not call the hospital as our staff are incredibly busy.

If there are any changes to planned care, our teams will contact you directly, and we’ll post updates across our social media channels.

As always, if you need urgent medical attention, call 000 or visit your nearest ED.

Our staff are doing their best to care for the community at this challenging time, so please be patient and treat them with respect.

Please stay safe, avoid all unnecessary travel, and remember that floodwaters are extremely dangerous – they can sweep children into drains, are highly contaminated, and should never be swum or driven through. ⚠️🚫

Introducing the Rights In Action Townsville Branch 🙌

Did you know that Rights In Action Incorporated (RIA) was formed in August 2001 and provides strong independent advocacy for people with disabilities who are in vulnerable situations. We are completely on the side of the person with a disability.

Rights In Action provides advocacy assistance for people who live in the geographical area of Cairns and Townsville including Palm Island, north to Cassowary Coast and Carpentaria, Yarrabah, Atherton, Mareeba, South to Mackay and west to Mount Isa.
