I was incredibly lucky to travel to Melbourne to attend professional development on the topic of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). CAS is a motor speech disorder, where a child has difficulty planning and coordinating the movements required for speech.
Presented by Jennie Bjorem Practical Strategies and Resources: Your Toolkit for Childhood Apraxia of Speech, provided valuable insight into the characteristics of CAS as well as evidence based assessment and treatment options.
I was also a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues in the field.

Tomorrow I am back working with my beautiful clients. I have been very blessed to have time away and I wanted to share some final photos from the conference. The cruise was an amazing opportunity for me professionally and personally. I met and shared knowledge and experiences with speech pathologists from around the world. We spent four days learning together and exploring the islands of Nassau and CoCo Cay. In addition to the conference we donated books to Brighter Bahamas, a not for profit organisation in Nassau that focuses on promoting literacy for Bahamian children. It was a fantastic trip that I look forward to attending it again in the near future.
