ADHD & School: You Don’t Need to “Try Harder.” You Need Better Tools.
ADHD affects how we focus, start tasks, and manage time — and traditional school systems aren’t built with that in mind.
Here are 5 coping strategies that actually work for ADHD brains:
🔸 Time anchors: Start tasks right after routine events (like lunch or class).
🔸 Micro to-do lists: Break big tasks into tiny steps you can check off.
🔸 Body doubling / background noise: Work near someone or use music to stay engaged.
🔸 Move before work: A quick burst of movement can unlock better focus.
🔸 Self-compassion: You’re not lazy. You’re wired differently — and that’s valid.
