Wow – how fast did those school holidays go?! 🌟

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us over the break. From start to finish, the holidays were filled with fun, laughter, and meaningful connections.

From testing our strength and agility at Ninja Parc, cooling off at The Strand Water Park, enjoying friendly competition at Bowling, to getting up close with Aussie wildlife at Billabong Sanctuary — these holidays were packed with memorable moments.

Seeing so many smiling faces, new friendships forming, and moments of joy was an absolute highlight for our team 💛

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR JUNE FAMILY MEMBERS!!!
Happy birthday Brenda, Ameya, Martin, Matthew, Stephan, Amber, Roark, Daniel, Yamantha, William K, Jim, Trischa, Marlow, Karen, Hunter, Helen, Sarah, Jace, Asharani, Adam, Ezekial, Jermaine, Leilani, Cody, Jacintah, Namarka, Andrew, Mason, William C, Steven and Arie.
The festivities began with a sausage sizzle and cake, then concluded with dancing and karaoke. Plenty of laughs, plenty of smiles and plenty of memories.

Hello everyone!

This week at the Abilities NQ Hub has been filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of smiles! Here’s a quick snapshot of all the fun, creativity, and connections we’ve shared this week at Abilities NQ, along with a few updates and things to look forward to!! 🎉

👩‍🍳 Monday Magic at our After-hours Children's Program:�This week, our little chefs rolled up their sleeves and whipped up some healthy chicken and veggie sausage rolls — and they were absolutely delicious! Packed with goodness and made with love, these tasty treats were a huge hit with everyone. 💚

🎨 Creative Tuesdays:
Our participants let their imaginations run wild during our art and craft session, making colourful ocean-themed sensory bottles.

🌳 Wednesday Park Outing – Fresh Air & Big Smiles:
This Wednesday, we made the most of the beautiful weather with a fun and relaxing outing to the local park! Our participants enjoyed stretching their legs, exploring nature, and spending time with participants in a calm, open space. These outings are a great way to support social connection, sensory regulation, and community participation — all while having a whole lot of fun!

🎂 May Birthday Celebrations

Happy birthday to Hunter and Isaac who celebrated with cake, balloons, and plenty of cheer from their peers and support team. We loved sharing your special day!

Congratulations to Our Winners! 🎉

A big thank you to everyone who visited us at the Disability Expo at Murray Sporting Stadium on Friday, 23rd May — we had an amazing time connecting with you all!

Congratulations to Cooper, the winner of our “Guess How Many Lollies” challenge! Cooper guessed a whopping 682 lollies, with the correct number being 670 — an impressively close guess. Go Cooper! 🥳

We’d also like to extend our congratulations to Samantha from We2Care, who took home our $100 Visa Gift Card. Well done, Samantha! 🤩

We’re thrilled to announce that the Abilities NQ June/July School Holiday Program is now open for bookings!!

We’ve planned a fantastic lineup of fun and engaging activities designed to make these holidays memorable for your child. 🤩

We are now inviting expressions of interest from guardians who may require extended support for their children. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting families, we are pleased to offer a 5:00pm pick-up option at the Abilities NQ Hub, located at 43–47 Dalrymple Road, Garbutt.

If this option aligns with your family's needs, we encourage you to register your interest via the link below.

Introducing Sarah and Lily our Service Delivery Advisors in Cairns.

LILY (pictured right) loves spending time at the beach, catching up with friends and heading off for camping trips on the weekends. Lily is a Cairns local having lived there all her life, growing up with her parents and four siblings (3 of which are triplets). Lily is passionate about continuing to build strong, positive relationships with participants and watching the hub programs grow and flourish. But please remember to not bring any Asian cuisine near Lily because she is a huge fan!!!

SARAH (pictured left) makes home decor from clay in her spare time. She has been doing this on and off for the last 6 years now and even had a collection in Eggplant and Poppy in Cairns! Sarah and her partner Sam are the proud parents of 2 young sons and her goal in life is to raise her boys to grow into happy, kind-hearted people remember their childhood as a time full of laughter and love. Sarah is looking forward to seeing the children's programs grow and develop in Cairns providing a safe and inclusive environment for all, regardless of disability.
