Our fully qualified and registered shiatsu practitioner, Simone Fruitier, offers professional Zen Sh Her clinic is located in Townsville, Queensland.

Simone’s training and experience in the Natural Health industry started in 2003. Her journey began in Naturopathy, Nutrition and Yoga and later developed into a keen interest of the Eastern perspective on health leading to the completion of a Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies. Simone is a fully qualified and registered (STAA) Zen Shiatsu practitioner. She also travels to Sydney every month to provide her clientele with their monthly shiatsu and bodywork fix's. Over her 7 years in Sydney, she successfully introduced Shiatsu treatments into corporate offices which was very well received & welcomed as part of many companies wellbeing offerings to their employees. Her interest in all aspects of health and alternative healing was inspired back in her teenage years when she seeked guidance and support with numerous health issues. This experience taught her much about healing and ignited her passion for a life long exploration into body mind practices, holistic nutrition, Japanese yoga and anything that is empowering for her. Working internationally as a health chef on a private yacht for 5 years, encouraged her to study even more deeply the relationship between body and mind, how we nourish ourselves on all levels & attend to our individual nervous systems. Realising how nature can play a big role in our education of ourselves, as well as help us heal, grow and learn. It is Simone’s passion to work with the blend of Shiatsu & Bodywork, Holistic Nutrition & Japanese Yoga therapy to assist clients to bring a finer quality of relationship between their minds and bodies, in order to better manage the many events of life. Simone is dedicated to her own personal development and considers it vitally important in order to be a sensitive and present practitioner.

Other stuff I do in my whites, actually I came straight from massaging all day in two Townsville local businesses. & . Thanks to our skipper Russell and Townsville Yacht club for a spectacular twilight sail last night. Was truly magical and I learnt so much ! Loads of fun 🙌

Cucumbers are so yummy at the moment. I stocked up on Sunday from Cotters Markets, Townsville City. The temperatures are rising here in the tropics & according to Chinese Medicine nutrition theory, they are fabulous for cooling liver heat from eating too much meat, bbq’d & deep fried foods & swishing it down with alcohol bevies, which in our hot climate is double trouble.

But don’t fret! Cooling spring foods are a great way to balance out some of the heat in our bodies & cool our lovely livers down so we can be calm & centred.

Pressed cucumber salad 🥗.
Slice thin rounds of cucumber & place them in a bowl with a little salt & mix. Put weight on a plate ( books work well) & place directly on the cucumbers. Allow to sit for 30 minutes. Meanwhile make a sweet vinaigrette. 1/2 cup of brown rice vinegar, 1/2 cup mirin, pinch of sea salt. Place all the vinaigrette ingredients in a small pot & bring to the boil over medium heat, then remove from heat & let cool. Remove excess liquid from the cucumbers by gently squeezing them. Toss with 1/4 cup of the dressing, reserving the rest for another salad. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds. Serve with other salads, fish & rice dishes. Such a delicious fresh addition to a springtime meal.
