💜 TESSA
Miss Tessa has been through thick and thin with TalkHQ - managing the flooding of the Townsville clinic in 2019, TalkHQ's 10th birthday in 2022, and the opening of our Keperra clinic in 2023. Some of the team jokes by calling her "T-Unit" for her knowledge of all things language (if you've scored the TILLS, you'll know). While clients know her calm and caring nature, her colleagues know she shows no mercy once a Kahoot is brought out... she dominates the leaderboards every time! Tessa dabbles in all parts of TalkHQ across her many roles, and she loves being a helping hand to any team member who needs her.

🧐 Ever wondered what those little words like is, are, do, have, can are doing in a sentence? They’re called auxiliaries, which are “helping verbs.” 💡

Auxiliaries don’t carry the main meaning of the sentence, but they help the main verb by showing:
✔️ when something is happening
✔️ if it’s a question
✔️ ability or possibility

They’re tiny words, but they make a HUGE difference in grammar development 🗣️✨

💜 SARA
Miss Sara is our curly-haired, accent-nailing, globe-trotting superstar. Sara proudly brings a touch of British charm to TalkHQ, having moved around Ireland, England and Scotland in her younger years before venturing afar - she has lived in more countries than most of us have visited! Her accent game is so strong that we’re all convinced she’s secretly done voice acting. She’s a mum to four kids, and when she’s not working her magic in the Townsville clinic, you’ll find her soaking up the sun at the beach.

We're back in Middlemount! ✈️

Miss Leah and Miss Hayley arrived safely this morning, and are looking forward to another day of face-to-face sessions tomorrow all around town, meeting some new faces along the way 💜

It's been a great first day for them both - Hayley is loving her first outreach visit! 🚗

Developmental Language Disorder 🗣️ a common (but often overlooked) communication disability. 1 in 14 means in every classroom there is likely at least TWO people with DLD whose communication challenges aren’t always visible. There could even be someone in your workplace or sports team with DLD 💜
