Floating involves lying in a purpose designed tank filled with water that is heated to skin temperature and over 350kg of Epsom salt. The high amount of salt creates a simulated gravity free environment- allowing the floater to naturally float. The dark of the tank eliminates stimulation from the outside world and creates the ultimate floating environment. Your mind is completely relaxed and you enter a state of meditation, focusing on internal stimulus. You will no longer be able to distinguish which body parts are in the water which will make you feel like you are simply floating on air.
