Today on World Senior Citizens Day, we honour the wisdom, resilience, and joy of older Australians — like Hazel and Dawn, two remarkable sisters and clients of Right at Home. 💙

After years of only seeing each other on special occasions, home care services helped bring them closer — now just minutes apart. With support for transport, nursing, and companionship, Hazel and Dawn are staying independent, connected, and active in their community.

👵👵 “The girls spoil me,” Dawn says. Hazel adds, “I wouldn’t have my independence without them.”

Meet the Team | JENN HOLDBROOKS | Care Coordinator

Jenn commenced her career in healthcare initially in 2010, commencing as an Assistant In Nursing at Townsville University Hospital. This led to her taking the next step in 2012 when she undertook her Diploma of Nursing and qualified as an Enrolled Nurse. She continued on at Townsville University Hospital in her new qualification before transitioning into ‘GP Land’, where she has spent much of her nursing career. Jenn has remained a local in Townsville during most of this time, other than a short one-year sojourn to Ballarat during which she worked in theatre at the private hospital, St John of God.

Jenn joined the RAHNQ family in June 2025 when the opportunity arose to join the Care Coordination team based in the Townsville office. Jenn was drawn to the role as she saw the opportunity within the role to support our clients to receive person-centred care that aligns to their needs and desires.

When not working, Jenn enjoys a good book, Netflix marathons and a good video game. As a fun fact, Jen used to run a miniature goat farm!! She describes this best as "crazy, cute and chaotic".
