Meet the Team | SONIA DAHL | Care Coordinator
Sonia was born in Fiji and spent her early childhood on the small island nation of Tuvalu, where she lived until the age of five. Her family relocated to Norway after a cyclone devastated their home. From there, Sonia’s childhood became a global journey, travelling across multiple countries with her parents in search of a place to settle. That journey led them to Townsville, where they made their home in 2005. In 2012, Sonia completed her Certificate III in Aged Care and began working in a retirement village, supporting elderly residents in the community.
Sonia eventually returned to Norway with her children, where she worked in a respite home supporting children and young adults with disabilities. During this time, she furthered her qualifications by completing a Certificate IV in Individual Support and Care. In 2018, Sonia and her family moved back to Australia. Since then, she has worked across childcare, disability support, and aged care, dedicating herself to improving the lives of others. Since 2022, her focus has been in aged care. Sonia proudly joined the Right at Home team to continue her compassionate work with the elderly as a home care worker in June 2025. In October 2025, Sonia took the opportunity to transition into a Care Coordination role within the Townsville office.
Outside of work, Sonia is one of six siblings and a proud dog mum to three energetic dogs. Her life is full of love, laughter, and action. She’s passionate about her role and says, “I love my job and wouldn’t change it for the world.”
