We’re thrilled to welcome Nathan Soong to the team at North Queensland Sports Academy (NQSA)! Nathan brings a dedicated approach to athletic training that aligns perfectly with our mission to help youth and adult athletes thrive.

Nathan specialises in coaching youth and adult athletes, combining sports science, individual testing and attentive coaching that listens to the athlete’s needs.

His style emphasises a foundation of movement quality and strength before adding load and is aligned with our core approach: safe progression, continual improvement and creating an environment where athletes can feel supported AND challenged.

🏋️ What he brings to you
For youth athletes: Nathan’s experience in youth strength and conditioning means he’ll help build speed, power, agility, coordination—and do so in a way that’s developmentally appropriate.

For adult athletes: Whether you’re looking to boost performance, prevent injury, or simply train smarter, Nathan’s approach will help you align movement, strength and sport-specific goals.

Testing & tracking: With Nathan’s sports science background, you’ll get more than just a workout—you’ll get measurable improvements and a clearer roadmap for where you’re going.

Individualised programming: Nathan listens first. He builds training plans based on you, your sport, your schedule and your goals.

🌟 WE’RE BACK! 🌟

After an unexpected few weeks thanks to the flooding, we’re thrilled to announce that PRIDE Human Performance / NQSA will officially RE-OPEN this Monday, 20th October! 💪💥

All classes, sessions, and individual appointments will return as per schedule — and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back through the doors.

It’s been a big clean-up, but true to our name, we’ve tackled it with PRIDE — and now it’s time to get back to doing what we do best: training hard, supporting each other, and building stronger humans. 🙌

💦 Important Update from PRIDE Human Performance & NQSA 💦

We’re so disappointed to share that due to circumstances completely outside our control, PRIDE and NQSA have been significantly impacted by a flooding incident within the shopping centre earlier this week.

A fire hose within the centre was left running and not turned off correctly, causing a burst hose that flooded several tenancies — including ours. While we were able to clear the water initially, it’s since become clear that the damage to flooring and walls is more extensive than first thought.

After meeting with insurers and contractors, we’ve been advised that we won’t be able to reopen during the week commencing 13 October. We’re hopeful that the concrete will dry enough to begin relaying flooring and repairs early next week, with the goal of being back up and running by Monday 20 October.

👉 Weekly payments will be paused.
👉 Those who have already paid for the full term will be contacted about make-up sessions or credits.
👉 Those who haven’t yet paid will have invoices adjusted to reflect the closure.

We know how disruptive this is and we’re genuinely sorry that your training has been affected by something so far beyond our control.

🚨 Important Update from PRIDE Human Performance & NQSA 🚨

At some stage on Monday evening, someone within the shopping centre used a fire hose and didn’t turn it off correctly — resulting in a burst hose that flooded several shops within Fairfield Central, including ours. 💦

While our team was able to clear the water initially, it’s since become clear that the damage to our walls and flooring is more extensive than first thought. To ensure the health and safety of everyone who uses the centre, we now need to thoroughly dry out the premises before reopening.

👉 As a result, PRIDE Human Performance and NQSA will remain closed for the rest of this week.

The good news? We’ll be back next Monday — ready and raring to go! 💪

Thank you for your understanding, support, and patience while we get everything sorted. We can’t wait to see you all again soon!

💦 Well… this wasn’t quite the recovery session we had in mind! 😅

While we do love swimming for fitness and recovery, we definitely weren’t planning on one in the middle of the centre today.

Due to an unexpected mishap in the larger shopping complex, PRIDE Human Performance and the North Queensland Sports Academy are temporarily closed.

We’ll keep you updated as we dry things out and get everything back up and running 🧽💪
