September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, bringing focus to Australia's most commonly diagnosed cancer in men. Prostate cancer affects thousands of Australian men each year. When detected early, survival rates are significantly higher.

Prostate cancer often shows no symptoms in the early stages, making regular check-ups with your GP important for men over 50, or from 45 if you have a family history.

Common symptoms may include:
➤Difficulty starting or stopping urination
➤ Weak or interrupted urine flow
➤ Frequent urination, especially at night
➤ Blood in urine or semen
➤ Unexplained weight loss and fatigue

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please see your GP for further assessment.

Our GPs can discuss prostate cancer screening options appropriate for your age and risk factors. Book an appointment by contacting our reception team on 07 4724 0700.

Today is R U OK? Day!

1 in 5 Australian adults experience mental illness annually, and many struggle in silence. You don't need to be an expert to help—being a caring listener makes a real difference. Start a conversation with these 4 steps:

1️⃣Ask – "Are you OK?" Choose the right time and place
2️⃣Listen – Give them space to talk without judgment
3️⃣Encourage action – Help them connect with support
4️⃣Check in – Follow up and stay connected

If you notice someone struggling, trust your instincts. Your care matters, even when signs aren't obvious.
