International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The theme of IWD 2026 is ‘Balance the Scales’, which is a promise that every woman and girl – regardless of background or identity – should be safe, heard, and free to shape their own lives.

Police are reminding all drivers not to drive through flood waters with a number of roads closed across the Fraser Coast and North Burnett region.

Emergency services were called to two incidents of vehicles caught in floodwaters overnight.
