Summer is prime time for internal parasites, with warm, humid conditions driving the lifecycle of strongyles, ascarids, and bots. A strategic worming schedule helps protect your horse’s health and prevents resistance from building in worm populations.

Faecal Egg Counts-To be conducted every season to monitor parasite load and guide targeted treatment. Through early to mid-summer, use a broad-spectrum wormer such as iMEC™ Broad Spectrum (Ivermectin) to control common internal parasites including strongyles, roundworms, and bots.
As summer progresses, and particularly in late summer, switch to a product that includes Praziquantel, like iMEC™ with TAPE, to also target tapeworms, which become more prevalent during warm, moist conditions.

Rotate between actives across seasons to maintain efficacy and always dose accurately according to body weight. Pairing treatment with good paddock management, such as manure removal and rotational grazing, reduces reinfestation and helps keep your horses thriving all summer long. 🐴🌿
