School Holiday OT group therapy sessions are coming this April! 🌟

The Rehab Centre (TRC) will be running Occupational Therapy group therapy programs designed to support skill development in a fun, structured and supportive setting.

✔️ Open to all families – you don’t need to be a current TRC participant
✔️ Expressions of interest now open – limited places available
✔️ Tell us your child’s preferred age group & focus areas (social skills, emotional regulation, fine motor skills, school readiness & more)

🌟 Get to know Stephanie, our Outreach Occupational Therapist 🌟

A 2024 graduate of James Cook University and part of TRC since 2021, Steph travels far and wide to support our clients, all over from North Queensland to Mount Isa, and Charters Towers 🛩️

She’s passionate about helping people of all ages navigate life transitions and get back to the activities they love, always championing independence and meaningful participation.

When travelling, Steph enjoys sightseeing, going for walks, and making the most of every place she visits. When she’s home, you’ll find her in the kitchen trying new recipes or relaxing with a TV series alongside family and friends.

Get to know Cherry 🤝

Before joining the TRC crew as an Occupational Therapist, Cherry worked as an Allied Health Assistant and OT Assistant, building strong experience across a range of settings.

Cherry has now been part of the TRC team for 3 years with strong interest in paediatrics. She loves helping children and their families and finds it incredibly rewarding to see those she supports build independence and achieve new milestones🌟

Outside work, you’ll find her spending time with her family and dogs, heading out for walks, or catching up with friends over coffee ☕🐾

Staff Spotlight Series : Meet Ava!

As a fresh graduate from James Cook University in 2025, Ava started working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, gaining hands-on experience that helped her confidently step into an OT role.

Ava has been part of the TRC family for a year and loves supporting paediatric and adolescent clients. She’s passionate about helping young people build skills, grow their independence, and feel confident participating at home, school, and in the community 💛 Her sessions are always client-centred, meaningful, and fun! 🦩🍭

Outside of work, you’ll find Ava walking along The Strand, spending time with friends and family, and baking delicious desserts.

Staff Spotlight: Get to know our Branch Manager, Talisha better 💙

You might recognise Talisha, but she’s actually been part of The Rehab Centre (TRC) family for 8.5 years, spending several of those in a leadership role. She’s passionate about helping both her team and her clients reach their full potential.

Talisha works closely with individuals living with neurological conditions, prescribing assistive technology (from minor to complex) to help maximise independence and quality of life. She loves mentoring others, collaborating across disciplines, and creating practical, client-centred solutions.

Outside of work, you’ll find Talisha spending time with family and friends, keeping active outdoors, fishing, enjoying the beach, or relaxing with a good movie or puzzle.

We’re jumping on the caricature trend and re-introducing Grace, one of our Occupational Therapists here at TRC (The Rehab Centre)!

Did you know Grace has been spreading good vibes at TRC for over three years? Graduated from James Cook University in 2023, Grace started as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and now working as an OT. She supports people with static and progressive neurological conditions through functional assessments, therapy, assistive technology, and practical task adaptations.

Outside of work, Grace loves boating, camping, CrossFit, AFL, and spending time with her family and pets 🐾
