Our psychologist, Dr Emma Black, has been busy publishing books on pregnancy and birth. To celebrate, she is doing an author talk this week at Mary Who? Bookshop.
The event includes:
• A discussion of common pregnancy myths (for example, you should wait until 12 weeks to announce a pregnancy) and their impact on women.
• Research-backed ways to reduce stress during pregnancy.
• Discussion of birth myths (for example, that birth is horribly painful; that birth should be natural/physiological, and more).
• How Emma’s two new books, The Pregnancy Myths Guide and The Birth Myths Guide, came about.
• Q&A.
• An exclusive early release of The Birth Myths Guide (it’s not actually out yet!)
• Book signings
• Nibbles and light refreshments
Come along to say hi, connect with other women, and learn more about the emotional landscapes of pregnancy and birth (and what can help you navigate these).
