❤️ Did you know that stress has an impact on your heart health? ❤️

When you are under stress for a long period of time it can lead to:
🩸 High blood pressure
🍬 Elevated blood sugar
🍟 Increased cholesterol levels (particularly LDL cholesterol)

These changes can silently increase your risk of heart disease and stoke which makes having a heart check important.

❤️This month is RedFeb where we focus on heart health ❤️
An estimated 1.4 million Australians have a high chance of having a heart attack or stroke in the next 5 years. Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of death in Australia, causing roughly one in four of all deaths.
We can prevent heart attacks and stroke through healthy behaviours like following a healthy eating pattern, being active, maintaining a healthy weight and being smoke free. Having high blood pressure and cholesterol are risk factors for developing heart disease, since you often can't feel these factors you may not know if your at risk.
A Heart Health Check with your GP will help you understand the risk of heart attack or stroke.
You are eligible for a Heart Health Check if you do not already have diagnosed heart disease and are:
45 years and over
35 years for people living with diabetes
30 years for First Nations peoples
