Modern humans live in their cortical thinking brain. They believe that logical thinking can resolve everything.
Well I have news. Thinking cannot 'feel'. Thinking can intellectualise, categorise, objectify etc. But it cannot feel the anxiety, anger, grief, love, compassion etc. Feeling is from different parts of our brain connected to the body. Feelings are felt in the body.
To resolve emotional and some behavioural issues and to feel love, we need to be able to fully accept and experience without judgement or labelling in the body (particularly the heart area). To breath , accept and acknowledge. This is the way to calm the mind.
