Welcome to our second edition of the “Freedom and Choice newsletter”.
As everyone is aware, we have all been on restricted operations over the last few months and we thank our staff and participants on how well we have come through this pandemic. As we head into a relaxing of restrictions, we would like to remind all of us to remain vigilant and maintain practices learnt during this exposure to a highly infectious virus. Please continue to following practices:
. Keep 1.5 metres away from others (1person per 4 square metres in a room). This does not mean your support worker.
. Infection control
. Washing/Sanitising our hands.
. PPE use when needed.
. Little things like coughing and sneezing into our elbow or staying home if we are sick.
Our New Premises
3 Ollerton Ave Newborough
In late May we discovered our office in Monash Road was a little leaky, so Lisa set out to seek out a new Joshua tree Building. We soon moved to a better all improved building!
We are pleased to announce that we are now located in the Old hospital in Moe.
We now have a private section for Admin, so we can work and not interrupt the clients and support workers with our ringing phones and meetings.
We have a couple of private rooms for craft, Computers and an activity room. We also have a men’s cave and sensory room, which are large and welcoming.
Here are a few pictures of the new building, there are too many area’s if I put them all on. I would not have room for anything else. Feel free to come in in and see for your self and say hello to the team.
Our Fishing group has restarted and the boys are once again setting out on a Friday Morning bright and early for their weekly fishing trip.
Craft group is also started up, and have had a great time meeting new faces and making wool dolls and wheat filled teddy bears.
Bryan and Steve have also started a coffee group on a Thursday.
If you are interested in any of the group please give Mel a call at reception to book in.
Here are a few pictures of the staff, clients and their family members all enjoying the new building.
David P, David is a Superman, husband a carer and all-round family man. Sometimes we forget all the work our client’s family members do; we as Support Workers enjoy being able to lessen the load where we can.
Here are some pictures of our clients and support workers enjoying the new building:
