This week’s OT Insight💡
Skill-building doesn’t need to feel like another thing on the to-do list.
When practicing something new, like shoelaces, using scissors, or buttering toast, the magic isn’t in doing it every single day. It’s in finding the right moments to practice.
⏱️ Look for calm moments across the week. Choose a time that isn’t already rushed or stressful.
✅ For shoelaces, try a quiet afternoon, not the morning rush.
✅ For buttering toast, a relaxed Sunday breakfast or after school snack works best.
Aim for 2–3 times a week over a couple of weeks, that’s plenty. And if life gets in the way? That’s okay too.
Progress isn’t about perfection, it’s about creating calm, repeated opportunities for practice when it fits.
