Is it time to catch up with your Cervical Screening Test?

✨It's officially National Cervical Cancer Awareness Week ✨

It's been a tough couple of years, but there's still Time to Catch Up with the things you've missed! Catch up with family you haven't seen in a while, coffee dates with your friends and, most importantly, catch up with your Cervical Screening Tests (CSTs)!

As of June this year, the number of CSTs performed nationally had dropped by 70% as compared to June 2019 😓

Lizi, 31, shares her motivations for keeping up to date with her routine Cervical Screening Test.

“I think my initial motivations (for screening) were just a general awareness, it’s something mum had always talked about being that her grandmother had suffered and just being a primary healthcare worker as well…prevention is better than cure and in all cases across the board, so it’s been something that I’ve been pretty proactive with.”

Karen’s first mammogram was a great first experience with the staff at BreastScreen Victoria making her feel very welcomed and reassured.

“I followed my intuition and thought, well I know my body very well and when I had that alert I thought, right I’m going to follow up and do something about it.”

Breast screening is known to be most effective by reducing breast cancer deaths and the impact of treatment among women in the 50-74 age group.

Screen For Me - Join the movement

Screen For Me is a campaign designed to boost community participation in the national breast, bowel and cervical cancer screening programs. It uses the strength of a local community and community members, including children, grandchildren, friends, partners and parents, to have an influence on their loved ones health by asking them to Screen For Me.

Who are we asking to Screen?

There are three national screening programs, they are designed for the below age groups:
