We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough, and we'll be more content when they are.

After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our partner gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice holiday, when we retire.

The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?
Your life will always be filled with challenges.

It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.

A quote comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said, "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until winter, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink.... there is no better time than right now to be happy.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
Work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching. 💃🏼

How much water do you really drink during the day? ⁣

Sometimes it feels like you haven’t stopped and then oh, whoops, I haven’t had any water but I’ve had 3 coffees, does that count? ⁣

Sadly, no. For every coffee or black tea add an additional glass of water, as those lovely beverages won’t hydrate you. ⁣

💧Aim for 2-3 L of filtered water daily. ⁣

💧Start the day with 2 glasses of water and a splash of apple cider vinegar or the juice of half a lemon. ⁣

💧drink water in between meals to support good digestion ⁣

💧hungry? Try having a glass of water and wait, see if the craving passes ⁣

Plans for the weekend? Why not try grounding, or otherwise known as earth therapy for yourself.⁣

A study on pain reduction and mood improvement followed sixteen massage therapists who alternated between periods of grounding and no grounding. ⁣

Prior to grounding therapy, emotional and physical stress and pain were common side effects of their physically demanding jobs. ⁣

After therapy, the participants noted a reduction in pain, stress, depression and fatigue. ⁣

Is it time to squeeze in some much needed grounding? ⁣

I wasn’t always great at self-care and some days I’m still not. It’s something I have to work on and consciously make time to schedule ‘me’ into my day. I’m a more balanced human when I do. ⁣

So as 2020 draws to a close I’ve been reflecting on the year that was. It’s been a pretty significant year and one most will not forget. ⁣

For me I reflect on 2020 as being the year of transition. For many it has been about challenge, more specifically, change, fear and constraints. ⁣

I feel fortunate to have had new opportunities for connection, creativity, meaningful conversations and living a more balanced life.⁣

On reflection, what has 2020 taught you about living in alignment of what truly makes you happy? ⁣

What can you stop doing, keep doing &⁣
start doing in 2021? ⁣🎇
