Lunchbox Monday!

Chicken & quinoa salad bowl with feta and walnuts and topped with lemon, turmeric and poppyseed dressing.

Seed bar and mandarin to compliment my greens drink (in story).

Started the day with eggs and vegies and will end with a stirfry loaded with seasonal veg.

Treat yourself to an fridge meal planner and you won’t believe how like lil sheep they will line up to read that weekly menu or even add a meal idea so you don’t need to!!

Also means I’ve been coming home to food prep already started and lo and behold they’re writing on the board when we run out of something 🙌

1. It has an Orac rating as a powerful antioxidant
2. 1/4 of its weight is fibre, viscous and fermentable which makes it amazing for gut and bowel health
3. Plant based source of Omega 3
4. 1/5 its weight as protein

Its benefits besides being great for gut health have been shown to help:
- improvedinsulin sensitivity
- satiete apetite
- assist with weight loss

Week 4 of my signature “Healthy Habits, Healthy you” guided program.

This week is about learning functional foods to help your body naturally reduce inflammation and to gently detox.

It’s easy to assume our hormones are always to blame but sometimes our digestive system is just overwhelmed which puts all of our body systems out of whack. It’s nice to give it a little breather every once in a while.

I’ll be running a seperate short program late September for detox alone and the Healthy Habits will run again end of November for those wanting a summer program 💚

Rainy day = soup day

Swipe for ingredients used. I usually don’t use the roasted pumpkin but had some leftover in the fridge. Just cook all the ingredients together with 200ml water for approx 15-20mins and blitz until smooth.

Served with garlic pita and Greek yoghurt.

Can also be used as base for a delicious gnocchi dish or pasta bake.

New studies show drinking Chocolate milk straight after sport has been found to be beneficial for muscle replenishment for quickly restoring glycogen levels. This is good news for kids right 😉

My boys love using the Chief chocolate collagen for milkshakes and hot chocs.

Collagen is also beneficial for:
- Speeding up muscle recovery
- Building tendon strength
- Reducing joint pain
- Improves bone growth and density
