About the Role
"Multiple positions Available"
We’re on the lookout for passionate, creative, and genuinely caring Diversional Therapists to become part of our Lifestyle and Wellbeing Team.
This isn’t just a job – it’s an opportunity to really make a difference in people’s lives. You’ll be designing and delivering individual and group-based activities that support emotional, physical, and social wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing
Getting to know our clients/participants – their life stories, their passions, and what brings them joy
Planning and running engaging activities that suit a variety of interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds
Encouraging participation and gently supporting those who might be hesitant or withdrawn
Coordinating special events, seasonal celebrations, group outings, and one-on-one moments that make each day matter
Working alongside our support staff and care staff and therapists to ensure activities support each person’s health and wellbeing goals
Keeping accurate documentation and assisting with assessments and care plans as needed
Supervising and supporting volunteers and lifestyle assistants
Sourcing resources and materials to keep things fun, fresh, and engaging
What We’re Looking For
A qualification in Diversional Therapy, Leisure & Health, or similar (minimum Certificate IV, ideally a Diploma or Degree)
Experience in aged care, mental health, or disability support (we’re flexible if you’re a great fit)
Warm, patient, and empathetic communication style
Confidence in leading groups and building rapport with a wide range of people
Creativity and the ability to think on your feet
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
A good sense of humour and a genuine passion for enriching others' lives
Basic computer and documentation skills
Current Police Check, First Aid Certificate, and COVID vaccinations (or willingness to obtain)
