Nature fibres and creatures from the garden.
We really do love story time.
Did you see the invitation we popped out in our newsletter? I’ll pop the link in the story.

Drum roll 🥁 our lovely guides working with us this term, besides me, Mandy.🌸💛🩷🌱
Kristen is kindness with a capital K. Having now worked with The Golden Grove for over two years, Kris, is that. Kind, caring, thoughtful and a wonderful listener. She is definitely a few little preschool aged girls’ BFF as well.
But in all seriousness, we and I, am grateful to have Kris in the garden with us each week, at our Monday home school group.
She is incredibly efficient and organised from her EA days, my second brain at times. An acute awareness of children and their individual needs. And her love and sharing of music and movement are versed from her years as a professional dancer.
Karen has a warm and effervescent energy . She has been coming to the garden for the last four years with her daughter and working with us regularly the last 9 months.
Karen has a diverse background which supports her ability to hold space for young children. She has a degree in social work and is also a Steiner trained early years teacher. Her love for nature and the early years is evident in all she has done professionally. We are pumped to have Karen in the garden with us weekly with our home school garden club on Monday.
Sophie is sunshine ☀️ Sophie has been coming to the garden for at least the last two years and supporting us in our playgroups for the last year and also the last two terms with our home school groups, we have had such fun.
Sophie worked for many years as a learning facilitator at an early intervention centre for autistic children and as a teacher’s aide supporting young kids with additional needs. She is also a naturopathic nutritionist and yoga teacher.
.
Lara is back from 6 months of travel around Australia! Lara has this divine grounding energy that is unique for her age. She is studying education currently and has a love of nature, the outdoors, travelling, cooking, reading and crocheting. Lara is patient and energetic and a delight to work with. Lara will be working on Thursdays with myself and our garden home school group.

Our community open days are an opportunity to potter and play in the garden. See what we do. Ask a question.
All are welcome, children too. Pull a few weeds and have some morning tea.
We do not run our regular stories or activities but there is much to explore for the children.
We look forward to seeing you.

Many of my best friends are definitely chickens! And one of our cheeky chooks, the bubba that survived the fox, Pip, is definitely a Roo. Eeep!
We would love for him to join us in the garden at the end of the term with our new mud cob coop. But Pippi is with us at our home at the moment, and as I live in an area which Roosters are not allowed, is there anyone that might be able to give Pip a home for 2 months?
He is super sweet. Loves a cuddle. Let me know.

Every school holidays we welcome back schmoggies who now go to school.
Oh how I love to see them. To see them reconnect to the familiar space. To test an element in a new found strength or focus.
Children really do come back to their core self when give the space and breathe to do so. And what an honour to observe.
Happy last week moments of school holidays and thank you for a wonderful few weeks.
Love Mandy and Kris 🌸💛

I’ll be back online on the 5th January to pop all the sessions live for term 1.
Merry Christmas to everyone. Enjoy the ham, passionfruit and cherry earrings. Enjoy the beach and leftover sandwiches after a swim. Enjoy the hugs and kisses and the magical lights.

We are excited to pop up what our weekly offerings are for term 1, 2026. Bookings will open January 5th, to give us all a little respite financially from Christmas, but enough time to know what you are doing for term 1!
We have a few changes this term which I am a little nervous, excited, tentative and curious about.
We have some epic projects for our home school garden club planned! A chicken mud cob house. Both Monday and Thursday’s group will be working on this project collaboratively.
Our Foodie Nature Play will be slightly morphing a little bit. We have always had a focus on food but there will be some zhoosh in that space. So if you have a little one “learning” about food (or a little fussy), our gentle approach might support you as a family. Mandy has worked with children and families with food for over 13 years.
We will also aim for three distinct themes over the term or go a little deeper. And, we are reducing our numbers. So if this is something you are interested in, make sure you chat with your friends about what dates you’d like to come to. Of course there is still our rhythm of oral puppetry story telling, crafts/arts, gardening and free play.
Our monthly community open days will start in February. Dates to be released in the new year.
Please share with your friends you think might like to be part of our children’s community garden. And reach out with any questions you might have.
Kindest, Mandy 🌸🍉🫜🌱💛

Are you ready to cook, play and sing?
Every session at the garden involves some kind of food preparation. But these school holidays we are stepping it up a notch. Like our incursions into schools and OOSHs.
We’d love to see you.
We are very comfortable with all dietary requirements so please make sure you list them .
Cheers Mandy 💦 🍒🍎🍏🫜🌱🍉🍅🌸🌼🌿 🐓
