Raising kids that can.
Nurturing them in our little children’s community garden .golden.grove where they can. They can try. Retry and retry again. Practice and play. Rinse and repeat. And rinse again because that mud is sticky!

Little moments of time preparing while the others sleep.
It isn’t unique. Many parents, grandparents and educators do it. In the glamour of PJs.
My daughters have started to help me prep craft materials for playgroup. Both Steiner kids, so they are incredibly handy! But some weeks they have other priorities 😉 So I do it with a cup of chai and enjoy the silence , until someone takes my cup!

Borboleta is doing so well.
Popped a water dish up there and will add some starter feed this afternoon.

We cannot believe how magical this afternoon was!
4 fertilised eggs of Pashmak, Popcorn and Pedro, were brought to my home, and get safe and warm for 21 days by Borboleta.
Yesterday we saw a wee crack. And this afternoon, four healthy little chicks.
2 mottled brown.
1 yellow.
1 white and grey.
21 days to the day.
Borboleta has done so well and is already caring for them so well. We will try and keep the with her.
Sol our other chicken (our first chicken raised from egg by our friend) was so intrigued she has calmly sat next to Borboleta this afternoon. She seems kind and calm so fingers crossed.
We will keep you updated and look forward to bringing them to the garden to meet you all soon.
Names? Staying with P?

At the .golden.grove , we try super hard to keep down the costs of our sessions so that more people can come.
Yet as all know, the cost of food and consumables has gone up considerably, and it is stating to become obvious we need to make some tweaks.
As a not for profit, we are able to run a Bunnings BBQ each year (we hope to in early 2026) and there are a few grants we can apply for, but it isn’t always so easy, and rarely for existing programs.

A lovely member of our community suggested icy poles! And with warming weather, it is such a great idea.

Made with 100% fruit juice, with no additives, they will be available on our Foodie Nature Play days with a gold coin donation or QR code gold coin donation 😆 Perhaps a sneaky way to get the kids to lick it back to the car!
We will have some for sale tomorrow. All funds go to the garden.

Today we started our first session of term with a question, “What difference can we make in our garden, that helps the community, plants and animals?”.
100 bazillion percent inspired by Dr Jane Goodall.
We used this book a discussed, reflected, drew and wrote what our plan is for the term.
Our children know friends. They know what we need to do. They just need a step up to bring it into action and also for them to understand that their small action ripple out much further.
A wonderful warm day, under the shade of the trees. 🌳

What a gift story is.
What a gift nature and play is.
We adore the creative arts at .golden.grove .
Story, music, craft, art, movement.
They are such powerful conduits for conversation, with all people, including the young.
