Our Diversional Therapist recently reached out to a wonderful teacher at Wyong Christian Community School, and together they’ve created something truly special — a Pen Pal collaboration connecting our residents with their amazing students ✉️💛
Last week, our residents were thrilled to receive letters, cards, drawings, and fun little facts about each child. The reactions were absolutely priceless....tears, joy, and plenty of laughter filled our morning tea as we read through their beautiful words.
This week has been all about responding! Our residents have loved writing back to their new pen pals and preparing Christmas cards to send off before the student's head into their school holidays.
We are so excited to see where this newfound friendship leads. Sometimes the simplest connections create the biggest smiles ❤️✨

Our residents have been making the most of the glorious weather lately — and what a joy it’s been ☀️🌼
From relaxing morning teas in the sunshine to energising exercise classes, music & movement sessions, and even a few lively rounds of Bingo… there’s been no shortage of smiles, fun, and fresh air 💛✨
And the best part? We’ve got a wonderfully busy few weeks ahead! We can’t wait to share all the special moments, laughter, and activities with you as they unfold. Stay tuned — there’s so much more to come 🌿📸💫

Our residents enjoyed a beautiful bus trip to Gwandalan on the shores of stunning Lake Macquarie yesterday 🚌

Did you know Gwandalan comes from the Darkinjung and Awaba Aboriginal languages, meaning “resting place”? It couldn’t have been more fitting.
Lake Macquarie, the largest saltwater lake in Australia and the entire southern hemisphere, put on a spectacular show with calm waters and scenic views all around. Residents soaked it all in over afternoon tea and a gentle stroll along the wharf.
A perfect spot for chatter, connection, and plenty of laughter.
What a wonderful day out 😎💙☀️

🌊 A Glorious Day by the Sea 🌞
Our residents enjoyed a wonderful bus trip to the historic Norah Head Lighthouse, one of the Central Coast’s most iconic landmarks. Built in 1903, this beautiful lighthouse has guided ships safely along the coast for over a century — and today, it guided us to the perfect afternoon!
With afternoon tea by the sea, plenty of vitamin D, and vast blue skies, it was a day filled with laughter, history, and calm ocean breezes.
As Marjorie said, “Now this is therapy.” 💙
We couldn’t agree more — the smiles said it all!

Today, we pause to remember and honour the brave men and women who served, and continue to serve, our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication have secured the freedoms we cherish every day.

At 11am we take a moment of silence to reflect on their service.

🌸 Melbourne Cup Magic at Glengara! 🌸🏇
Our residents enjoyed a fun-filled Melbourne Cup celebration — from cash sweeps to sweet treat sweeps, fascinators & fashions on the field, and even our very own staff horse races! 🎩🐎💐
High tea was served as everyone gathered to watch the race that stops a nation. The social interaction was loud, the laughter even louder, and from grinners to winners, it was a day enjoyed by all! 🥂💚

Melbourne Cup fever has hit Glengara in the lead-up to today’s main event, our residents have been brimming with excitement — creating stunning table floral arrangements, crafting their own fabulous fascinators, and even bringing a green horse to life for a bit of fun! 💐🎩🐴
The energy has been contagious, and we can’t wait to see what today brings — from the fashion to the laughter… and of course, to find out who picks the winning horse 🐎🍀🎉

🎃👻 Spooky fun was in full swing at Glengara as residents and staff got into the Halloween spirit! From creative costumes to trick-or-treating and festive decorations, there were smiles (and a few playful scares) all around 🧙‍♀️🍬🕸️
It was wonderful to see everyone joining in the fun and laughter — proving you’re never too old to enjoy a bit of Halloween magic 🎃✨

A few weeks ago our residents took time to focus on something we all need to care for our mental health 💚
Throughout the week, we enjoyed a variety of activities to support mental wellbeing, including our mental health walk around the pathways, guided meditation, mindfulness colouring, exercise sessions, and other interactive activities designed to keep both mind and body active 👣
Mental health matters at every age, and it was wonderful to see so many residents taking part, connecting, and sharing moments of calm and positivity together 💫

With today’s wet weather keeping us on the bus, we were reminiscing about our recent outing to beautiful Canton Beach. Where the sun was shining, the views were perfect, and the smiles were plenty 🌞
Residents enjoyed a leisurely walk along the pathway, soaked up some much-needed vitamin D, watched the local birdlife, and finished the afternoon with a well-deserved cuppa and treats🫖🕊️
Here’s to more sunny adventures ahead☀️🚌💛

Who says you can’t dance sitting down? Our residents are proving that movement has no limits with Chair Zumba! This energetic and joy filled class is keeping everyone active, improving strength, flexibility, and coordination. All while having a great time to lively music 🎶✨
Our amazing instructor Fiona has brought a wonderful burst of energy to Glengara. She shared that this is her first-ever experience teaching Zumba from chairs, designed to ensure everyone can join in safely and confidently and she’s absolutely thrilled by the growing number of residents attending each week!
The smiles, laughter, and sense of achievement in every session remind us that fitness can be fun at any age 💪❤️
