We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 4pm at the Tumut Hospital. We are very proud of our new hospital which was officially opened on Thursday 27 October 2022 by NSW Deputy Premier Paul Toole, Regional Health Minister Bronnie Taylor and our local Member Joe McGirr. We had a fantastic first planning session with our newly formed Tumut LHAC this week.

We were able to agree on activities that we will work on this year to be able to address some of the key health priorities/concerns impacting on us here in Tumut and across the Snowy Valleys.

We will aim to keep you informed about health matters that effect you, and also seek your feedback about what matters to you most, and advocate for our community.

Thank you to the team from Murrumbidgee Local Health District and Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network for coming along and supporting our planning session.

Stay tuned for more!

Great information about the IPTAAS financial assistance for health care related travel.

Are you eligible to claim travel and/or accommodation expenses? Money is tight especially at this time of year. Scan the QR code below, maybe some of the financial burden can be eased.

Have you heard about the Outreach Heart Failure Diagnostic Clinic?

Talk with your GP about how you can access this clinic...

The Outreach Heart Failure Diagnostic Clinic has been back out on the road, today bringing expert care to patients from the Harden, Boorowa, Young and Cootamundra areas.

The clinic enables isolated patients identified at risk of heart failure, to have timely, affordable access to screening, diagnostic and specialist assessment, bringing care closer to home for rural people at no cost to the patient.

Established in December 2022, the clinic was initially offered in the western parts of the MLHD, paving the way for the current expansion into in the eastern sector. This expansion made possible through a partnership with Wagga Wagga’s Riverina Cardiology.

The clinic model is a unique public-private partnership between the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network, Roy Cardiology-St Vincent's Network, and Riverina Cardiology, as well as primary care providers including Aboriginal Medical Services.

Upcoming clinics are planned for Temora, West Wyalong, Hay, Lake Cargelligo, Narrandera, Tumut, Holbrook, Gundagai, and Henty.

Thank you to all of our partners, who have helped to make the clinic a success.

◼Pictured discussing the clinic are Professor Gerard Carroll from Riverina Cardiology and MLHD’s Director Integrated Care and Allied Health, Emma Field.
