Supporting People With Diabetes at Work this World Diabetes Day!

💡Did you know 7 in 10 adults living with diabetes are of working age?

For many, managing diabetes is part of everyday life—but in the workplace it can become a source of stress, stigma, and fear when the right systems aren’t in place.

At InControl Care, we believe every workplace should be a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for people living with diabetes. With the right education and practical strategies, employers can empower their staff, reduce risk, and create a culture of understanding—not judgement.

How InControl Care Supports Workplaces?

We provide tailored Diabetes Education Programs designed for businesses and organisations, including:
✔ Workplace training sessions
Helping teams understand the basics of diabetes, recognising symptoms, and knowing how to support someone experiencing hypo- or hyperglycaemia.
🩸Setting up safe spaces for diabetes management
Private areas for glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and secure storage of medication.
⛑️First-aid readiness
We train staff to recognise and respond to diabetes-related emergencies confidently.
🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒Reducing stigma and fostering inclusivity
We help workplaces develop policies and communication strategies that promote understanding and eliminate fear-based or discriminatory attitudes. 🍿Healthy workplace initiatives
From providing healthier snack options to supporting physical activity and flexible working arrangements.
📈Screening & education days
We can organise onsite diabetes risk assessments, information booths, and Q&A sessions led by our diabetes educator

Why it matters?
When employees feel supported, they’re not only safer—they’re more engaged, productive, and confident. Workplace education saves lives, builds culture, and creates healthier communities.
Let’s make your workplace diabetes-friendly!

If your organisation is ready to learn more and do more for employees living with diabetes, we’re here to help.

💪🏼 Why Emsculpt Can Help Older Adults Stay Strong, Balanced & Independent

As we get older, it’s common to lose muscle mass and strength — a process called sarcopenia. This can lead to poor balance, weaker bones, and a higher risk of falls. But the good news? There are innovative ways to support your body and stay strong at any age.

One of those ways is Emsculpt — a safe, non-invasive treatment that helps build muscle and support bone health using HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology.
Here’s what makes it so beneficial 👇🏼

🌟 1. Improves Strength and Balance
Emsculpt works by making your muscles contract thousands of times in just 30 minutes — something you simply can’t achieve on your own. These deep contractions strengthen your core, glutes, and legs — the exact muscles that keep you steady and confident on your feet.

🦴 2. Supports Bone Density (Osteoporosis Prevention)
As muscles strengthen, they place healthy stress on your bones, which can help slow down bone loss. For people with osteopenia or osteoporosis, this added stimulation supports bone density and overall bone health.

🚶‍♀️ 3. Helps Prevent Falls
Better strength and posture mean better balance. Many clients report feeling more stable when walking, climbing stairs, or doing everyday tasks — helping to reduce fall risk and maintain independence.

💤 4. Gentle and Accessible
Emsculpt is comfortable and requires no downtime. It’s an ideal option for those who find traditional strength training difficult due to joint pain, fatigue, or mobility challenges.
At InControl Care, we believe ageing well means staying active, strong, and confident — and Emsculpt can be a wonderful support tool alongside exercise and healthy living.

✨ Stay strong. Stay balanced. Stay in control. ✨

✨ Girls’ day – but make it pelvic health! ✨

We got a group of girls together for a fun and informative afternoon at InControl Care — complete with rosé, a grazing platter, and a chance to try and learn about our Emsella chair (aka the “pelvic floor throne”).

We talked openly about women’s health, incontinence, and how strengthening your pelvic floor can transform your confidence — no awkwardness, just real talk and laughter.

If you and your girlfriends want to experience a session like this, message us to organise your own private info and trial.
Let’s break the stigma and take control together 💪

World Pharmacists Day 2025 💊🌎

Today, on World Pharmacists Day, I want to reflect on why I started this journey.

As a pharmacist, I’ve always believed that our role goes far beyond dispensing medicine — it’s about empowering people with knowledge, improving health outcomes, and creating change in the way care is delivered.

Starting InControl Care was my way of bridging the gap I saw every day: people struggling in silence with health concerns that impacted their confidence, independence, and quality of life. I wanted to create a space that combined innovation with compassion — where evidence-based care meets practical solutions, and where people feel heard, supported, and back in control.

From diabetes education to women’s health innovation, my mission has always been the same: to help people live with confidence, dignity, and independence.

To my colleagues across the globe — today we celebrate the impact pharmacists make every single day. And to my community — thank you for trusting me with your care. 💙

💡 She came in for bladder leaks… we found dangerous overnight sugar crashes 😮
A 49‑year‑old woman came to InControl Care for help with stress incontinence.
During her visit, she told us she was:
* Waking up 4× a night 🚽
* Always tired 😴
* Craving sugar 🍫
* Sometimes feeling shaky

We offered her a 2‑week Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) 📊 — a small sensor that tracks blood sugar 24/7.

The results:
📉 Repeated overnight hypos (sugar crashes)
📈 Big sugar spikes during the day
⚠️ Signs of insulin resistance

With small changes to her meals and habits, she now sleeps through the night, has more energy, and fewer cravings.

💬 You don’t have to have diabetes to have blood sugar problems. If you have bladder issues, sugar cravings, or poor sleep, our CGM trial can help find answers.

📍 Information night 12th August 5pm

🩲 Stress Incontinence — It’s More Common Than You Think 💧
⠀
Ever sneezed, coughed, or laughed and… leaked a little?
You’re not alone.

This is stress incontinence, and it affects 1 in 3 women — especially after childbirth or as we age.
⠀
It’s caused when pressure (stress) on the bladder overcomes the strength of the pelvic floor muscles.
⠀
The good news? You don’t have to just live with it.
⠀
At InControl Care, we combine pelvic floor rehab, lifestyle support, and cutting-edge therapies (like Emsella) to help you:
✔ Regain control
✔ Strengthen from the inside out
✔ Get back to sneezing, laughing, and living without the worry
⠀
Local support. No shame. Real solutions.

🌈 Healthy Eating for Diabetes – The Power of Colour 🌽🥬🥕🍅

When managing diabetes, what’s on your plate matters—and variety is key.
One simple rule to remember!
Eat the rainbow.

🍽️ This plate is a great visual for balanced, blood glucose-friendly meals:
1. Half the plate – Non-starchy vegetables & salad
Think spinach, broccoli, capsicum, cucumber, tomato, eggplant and more. These are low in carbs, high in fibre, and packed with vitamins and antioxidants. They help keep your blood sugars steady and your gut happy.
2. One quarter – Lean protein:
Eggs, chicken, tofu, fish, legumes—protein helps you feel full and slows down the absorption of glucose.
3. One quarter – Low GI or high-fibre carbohydrates:
Wholegrains, brown rice, corn, sweet potato, and grainy breads break down slowly and avoid sharp spikes in blood glucose.
4. Add a small amount of healthy fats:
Avocado, olive oil, seeds, or a dollop of Greek yoghurt can help improve satiety and overall balance.

🌟Tip: The more colours on your plate from natural foods, the more nutrients you’re getting. Each colour offers different antioxidants and health benefits.

Start by making small, colourful swaps and notice how your body responds.

💡 Remember: there’s no one-size-fits-all with diabetes. Focus on whole foods, balance, and how your body feels.
