Today we join all Australians in observing National Reflection Day, a moment to come together with compassion and quiet respect for all those affected by the tragic events at Bondi Beach earlier this month. On this day of national reflection we honour the lives lost, offer our thoughts to those grieving and support one another as a community.

As part of this day, Australians are invited to light a candle at 6:47pm and observe a minute of silence.

Moments like this can stir emotions and be difficult for some people. If you or someone you care about needs support, help is available locally and beyond:

Our community came alive on Friday for Market Day at Sunrise Village, Tuncurry and what a special day it was!

We were delighted to welcome stallholders from across the local area who brought a beautiful variety of handmade crafts, plants, homewares, gifts, and sweet treats. Residents, staff and neighbours all came together to browse, chat and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

Events like this remind us of the importance of connection — both within our village and with the wider community. We’re so grateful to every local business and maker who joined us, and to everyone who came along to support the day.

Thank you for helping make Sunrise Village feel not just like home, but part of something bigger.
