Good morning all!

We have made a very difficult decision to cease operations at Tuross Head Medical Centre.

Over the last year we have been hard at work, trying to source Doctors and new Clinic operators to take over this practice and we have not been successful.

Yesterday, we have made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to close our doors for now.

Patient record transfers will be available, please email or call us for more information.

📣 Important Announcement for the Tuross Community! 📣
Dear Tuross Community,
We are delighted to share some exciting news with you regarding the future of our beloved Tuross Head Medical Centre. Over the past few weeks, we have been working tirelessly alongside local and government authorities, as well as key stakeholders, to find a solution to the impending closure of our medical center on July 31, 2023. We are thrilled to inform you that our collective efforts have yielded positive results, and we can now confidently reassure you about the continuity of our vital healthcare services.
Through collaboration and determination, we have made significant progress in addressing the challenges we faced, particularly the shortage of general practitioners in our rural area. We are pleased to share that we have applied for an Area of Need position and initiated the visa process for a highly qualified doctor who will be joining our team from overseas (Subject to approval from the Immigration and Medical Board), This new addition will ensure that our medical center continues to provide the comprehensive care and support you deserve.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Cathy Milliken, Fiona Phillips MP, Dr. Michael Holland, Dr Navjot Sidhu, the Staff at THMC and all the stakeholders involved. Their unwavering commitment and dedication have been instrumental in paving the way for this positive outcome. We also extend our sincerest thanks to our community members who have been advocates for the preservation of our medical center. Your unwavering support and engagement have made a significant impact.
Additionally, we have engaged recruitment agencies specializing in healthcare professionals with experience in rural placements. This collaboration will enable us to attract and retain highly qualified doctors who are passionate about serving rural communities like ours. We are also exploring partnerships with educational institutions to provide opportunities for medical students and residents, fostering a future generation of healthcare professionals dedicated to regional healthcare.
We have been in communication with the landlord, and they have been incredibly supportive of our cause. We understand the importance of a stable and accessible medical center in our community, especially for our elderly residents and the local businesses that depend on its presence.
We want to assure you that your health and well-being remain our top priority. We are committed to providing a supportive and caring environment where you can receive quality medical care. Furthermore, we are exploring innovative solutions, such as telehealth services, to ensure uninterrupted access to healthcare during any staffing transitions.
This journey has reaffirmed the strength and resilience of our community. Together, we have overcome challenges, and together, we will continue to thrive. We will keep you updated on any significant developments as we move forward, and we encourage you to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have.
Thank you for your unwavering support, trust, and understanding. We look forward to serving you for years to come.
Warmest regards,
Gurdeep

Dear valued members of the community,
It is with great sadness that we must inform you that our Tuross head medical centre will be closing its doors on from 31 July 2023. This was not an easy decision, but after careful consideration, we have determined that it is in the best interest of our wider community on the south coast.
We want to assure you that we remain committed to ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care and support during this transition and thereafter through our Medical Centre in Narooma. We will be working closely with our patients and their families to ensure a smooth and seamless transfer of care to Narooma Medical Centre (No Transfer of file needed) or if the patient wants to any other medical providers in the area.
We are grateful for the relationships we have built and the contributions we have made to the health and well-being of our community.
Finally, we want to thank our staff for their dedication and hard work in providing exceptional care to our patients. We will be forever grateful for your contributions and wish you all the best as you move forward.
Dr Navjot Sidhu will continue to provide services through Narooma Medical Centre.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Gurdeep
