NEW BACK PAIN PATIENTS NEEDED!

- Do you (or a family member or friend) have low back pain that has lasted for 3 months or more?

- Would you be willing to participate in a clinician training day as part of an upcoming Cognitive Functional Therapy (CFT) research trial?

If so, please read on!

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE:

- a comprehensive assessment and CFT treatment of your back pain, by an experienced physio (me!) who is undertaking advanced CFT training, under the guidance of an expert CFT mentor

There is no cost to you, other than 2 hours of your time. But you will receive expert care, new insights into your back pain, and the satisfaction of contributing to leading edge back pain research that will help everyone!

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

- be available for 2 hours on the weekend of Oct 11-12, to attend an assessment and treatment session at Macquarie Uni

This is for patients who have NOT been treated by me in my clinic, but open to anyone else receiving any type of treatment by another clinician, or not having treatment at all. As long as your back pain has been lasting for more than 12 weeks and is significantly impacting your life, you are eligible.

Pain Revolution Rural Outreach Tour 2025 has begun!! Kicking off with a delightful spin around Bundaberg to warm up the legs and get to know the Group 2 cool kids. And a fabulous community outreach event in the arvo to get curious about pain - “do you get it?” 😜 Tomorrow we head to Hervey Bay, only 130km down the road….love the message, hope and recovery that Pain Rev is bringing to regional Australia. In August I’ll be joining the Pain Revolution Rural Outreach Tour - 8 days of cycling (approx. 800km) and outreach education on the Sunshine Coast. Combining my passion for pain education and cycling, I’ll be riding to raise funds to sponsor Local Pain Educators (LPEs) in rural and regional Australia. Worldwide clinical guidelines state that the first-line treatment for chronic pain is EDUCATION. But the delivery of this education is lacking, especially in rural and regional Australia. Yet another fulfilling, mind bending and inspiring few days with and her fabulous assistants and (how lucky to be taught by two certified practitioners!!), discovering all the things ConnectTherapyTM for the foot and ankle. Great to catch up with some fellow series grads from 2019 too . New skills learnt, old ones refreshed, passion reignited. I no longer fear the foot, but rather am curious, excited and fascinated by these amazing structures and how crucial they are to the True Whole BodyTM approach 🦶🏻👣👐🏻 ™

Graduation Day 👩🏻‍🎓- a wonderful way to celebrate 2 years of hard work, almost 30 years to the day since graduating with my physio degree! Studying alongside and learning from some incredible clinicians can only benefit my patients, and to be surrounded by so much intelligence and passion for improving all forms health care is always inspiring…not to mention rubbing shoulders with our amazing 2024 Australians of the Year !!
