She’s constantly checking that her support workers have eaten and had enough to drink, generously donates to charities, and brings kindness wherever she goes. New at Jack Evans Boat Harbour – Central Beach 🌊💙

🦽A few weeks back we launched a new free self-service beach wheelchair at Jack Evans Boat Harbour and the response has been amazing.

🤝🥰Initiatives like this require coordination and feedback from many different stakeholders. Our Equal Access Advisory Committee played a vital role in advising Council and ensuring lived experience shaped our decisions. We also worked closely with local organisations, advocates and people with disability to co- design solutions that would work in real life.

🙏In addition, Council acknowledges the support of Twin Towns Clubs & Resorts, who permitted construction of a pathway on a small section of their land leading to the secure storage area. This enabled the wheelchair to be in a secure, central and easily accessible position for the community.

✳️Thanks to everyone who worked with us to make this part of the Tweed accessible for everyone!
