How we fuel our body is so important to ensure it is able to perform all that is required of it on the daily and function optimally. These are a few simple steps that can help you get through your day without crashing and burning, and most importantly, reaching for the processed c***!

Consume coffee or caffeinated drinks first thing in the morning before consuming food, spikes our blood sugar levels, increases our cortisol levels which affects our nervous system, and reduces our hunger signals (not what we want to be doing first thing in the morning!)

Carbohydrates are the bodyโs main fuel source, however when we eat them on their own, we donโt provide our body with long lasting energy as we would when we pair them with a proteins and healthy fats, rather we only provide the body with a short lasting fuel source which will cause us wanting more to eat soon after.

By drinking plenty of water, we help our body with a tone of bodily processes; detoxification, healthy blood pressure, healthy muscles, but it also means weโre less likely to reach for extra nibbles or liquids full of sugars and unwanted calories between meals. I like to add in a pinch of Celtic salt to help the water pe*****te into the cells.

This has been my saviour during those afternoon slumps when I need a pick me up, itโs packed full of vitamins & nutrients, antioxidants to help target overall health, immune system, healthy blood sugar levels, energy and tastes amazing!
