Tumbulgum Historic Cemetery.

After our first day on site, removing debris, w**ds, and locating a number of threatened species, this place which crosses the divide between social and environmental values, enters a new phase.

There is an undeniable, bittersweet charm here, and we a grateful to be working with Tw**d Landcare and Tw**d Shire Council on this project on behalf of the Tumbulgum and Tw**d Shire communities.

Once again we find ourselves in Tomewin, on the far eastern edge of the McPherson Range, just under the NSW-QLD border.

Again, it's Lantana camara. Here, in partnership with Tw**d Shire Council, we have strategically selected for eradication approximately 3000 square metres of lantana sprawl, surrounded on three sides by established, high diversity wet sclerophyll, vine thicket, and sub-tropical rainforest.

Turn a solid Lantana patch into primary rainforest!

Five years of hard work has transformed this monoculture of w**ds into a diverse rainforest habitat.

The regrowing forest is so thick it was impossible to see the original view. The area needs work to keep the exotics out and the natives thriving.

Get in touch with us to transform your property from a w**d infestation into a beautiful piece of native habitat.

Night Flowering Jasmine (Cestrum nocturnum) is often admired for it’s beautiful vanilla like aroma which will fill the night air in late summer. But this plant can be an aggressive w**d in bushland, dominating gullies it will exclude native plants and become a monoculture like Lantana which it can often be found growing with. The plant is also highly poisonous ☠️ and has been linked to deaths of children and stock animals.

WES has successfully treated this w**d on many private properties allowing native species to regrow bringing back rainforest from an exotic monoculture. If you need help with controlling the scourge that is Night Jasmine please get in touch with us.

Cat's Claw Creeper is one of Australia's worst w**ds, capable of destroying stands of pristine rainforest, this exotic vine is extremely invasive and spreads readily through thousands of tiny wind blown seeds. It was a gut-wrenching discovery to find this horrible w**d had a toe-hold on the NSW/Qld border at Numinbah, located in a position where it could shed seed into both the upper Nerang River (Qld) and upper Rous River (NSW) catchments, and more alarmingly spread into nearby and inaccessible areas of National Parks.

Thankfully, swift action has been taken by Tw**d Shire Council staff to treat the w**d and stop it's further spread. While more work needs to be done this is a great start to an ambitious project to eradicate Cat's Claw Creeper from the area.

If you suspect you have Cat's Claw Creeper, please don't hesitate to contact us for an obligation free quote.
