It was a pleasure to welcome the federal Health Minister, Mark Butler and the local MP, Fiona Philips and Coordinare South Coast PHN, Prudence Buist into Beachside Pharmacy, Ulladulla.
It was a great conversation where we shared our thoughts on healthcare in Australia and they got to meet our wonderful team at the pharmacy.

Community pharmacies play a vital role in our communities. They’re there when you need them for trusted things like scripts, advice, vaccinations and much more.

Thanks to Jeff Soo and the team at Beachside Pharmacy for talking with the Health Minister, Mark Butler MP and myself about how pharmacies are playing an even bigger role and will into the future.

Recently the Albanese Government signed the 8th Community Pharmacy Agreement which is supporting our local pharmacies and delivering cheaper medicines from 1 July.

From 1 July, for the next five years, we’re freezing the PBS co-payment at $7.70 which will provide some relief for pensioners and concession card holders. We’re also freezing the maximum PBS price of a script for the next 12 months.

Already patients in Gilmore have saved just over $2 million in from cheaper medicines.

I particularly love seeeing the Shingrix (Shingles) vaccination on the National Immunisation Program for people aged 65 years and older and the National Immunisation Program now available to pharmacies.

Thanks to all our pharmacists and pharmacy workers across our region for the valuable work you do each day.
