A new UTS Health study is spotlighting older Australian women redefining aging by taking on the ultimate adventure: solo road trips across the country.

From navigating the dusty Oodnadatta Track to exploring Tasmania’s wild landscapes, these women are embracing independence, personal growth, and the thrill of the unknown.

Margaret Yates, a UTS Faculty of Health PhD candidate, has uncovered their inspiring stories, highlighting the courage it takes to break free from expectations and the benefits of a nomadic lifestyle—less stress, better health, and stronger self-confident.
