Dr Tan has a wealth of experience and is a well-known compassionate GP in the local Redlands area.

Dr Tan graduated from The National University of Singapore in 1994 and spent 10 years rotating through different tertiary hospitals and departments, gathering varied experiences and skills, before settling into General Practice. She migrated to Australia in 2004 and worked in The Lyell McEwin Hospital in Adelaide in Intensive Care and Emergency Departments for 1 year before moving into rural General Practice in Gawler on the outskirts of the beautiful Barossa Valley.

She moved to Brisbane in 2007 and enjoys seeing the full spectrum of General Practice presentations. She feels very humbled and privileged when patients trust her with their care from cradle to grave.

She is also heavily involved in medical and non-medical volunteer work, some of which includes music entertainment and engagement with residents in nursing homes, and mentoring and looking after the mental and emotional well-being of colleagues. Dr Tan teaches General Practice Registrars and medical students in her clinic and hopes that they will catch a glimpse of the fulfilment and joy of General Practice.

When not working, she likes to take solitary walks and does not like to be far from her piano, which brings her tremendous happiness and comfort.
