In addition to clinical services, Motion Health is committed to supporting the athletics community through educational workshops, athlete sponsorship, and ongoing collaboration with coaches and performance staff. These initiatives are designed to provide athletes with practical knowledge around injury prevention, strength and conditioning, recovery strategies, and performance nutrition.

Motion Health is proud to support Queensland Athletics in building a strong pathway for athletes, ensuring they have the resources, guidance, and medical support required to perform at their best and progress to the next stage of their sporting careers.

Meet Edgar

Edgar is one of our new physiotherapists with a special interest in post-operative rehabilitation and return-to-sport performance 🏃‍♂️

With experience working alongside elite athletes and in strength & conditioning settings, he takes a detailed, evidence-based approach to help people move better, rebuild confidence, and get back to the activities they love.

Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find him out fishing 🎣 or enjoying a good flat white ☕

We’re excited to have him on the Motion Health team!

Worried about your child’s growth? You’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself 🤍

Faltering growth can impact physical development, learning, and emotional wellbeing, but with the right nutrition support, many children are able to catch up and thrive.

Our paediatric dietitian works with families using individualised, evidence-based strategies that fit real life — not rigid rules.

If something doesn’t feel right with your child’s growth or eating, trust your instincts and reach out 💛

Motion Health × Southside Eagles 🦅

Pre-screening checks ✅

We screened hip strength (abduction + adduction), CMJ and single-leg strength to build a clear picture of each athlete’s power output, asymmetries and injury risk factors.

Early data = smarter programming, better load management and stronger performance when it matters most.

Build strength. Build resilience. Build the season. 🦅⚽️💪

So you want to do a pull-up?
Episode 2 of our How to Pull-Up series is here 👊

This week we’re working on inverted rows — one of the best exercises to build the back, scapular, and grip strength needed for pull-ups, especially if full pull-ups aren’t there yet.

How to set up:
• Set a bar or rings at hip/waist height
• Lie underneath and grip slightly wider than shoulder-width
• Keep your body in a straight plank from head to heels

How to perform:
• Brace your core and glutes
• Pull your chest toward the bar, driving elbows back
• Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top
• Lower slowly with control until arms are fully extended

Progressions:
Bent legs → straight legs → rings

Build strength first. Pull-ups come later 💪
Stay tuned for the next episode 🕶️

Feeling wiped out as the year wraps up? 😴

It’s not laziness — it’s fatigue stacking up: physical, mental, emotional, and social.

What helps:
Pull back on training
Prioritise sleep + hydration
Move gently & consistently

Balance busy days with quiet time

Listen to your body — fatigue is information, not failure.
