Here’s a sneak peek of our brand new consult space coming together, featuring our very own site supervisor, interior design critic, and certified tapemeasure wrangler, Jaye! 😎💕

With hard hat, high vis, and a hammer in hand (don’t worry, she’s leaving the actual building to the professionals), she’s making sure every shelf is ready to hold frames, forms, and maybe a few emergency chocolate stashes for the boss 🍫👓.

It’s official, demolition has begun at My Optometrist! Walls are coming down, plans are coming to life, and we’re one step closer to unveiling a refreshed space just for you. 👷‍♀️👓

The Week That Was…

Wow – what a week! As many of you may know, there was a fire at Bargain Square, and while we’re incredibly grateful that our practice wasn’t the source, we sadly did sustain significant damage. Our hearts go out to our neighbours and everyone affected.

But – there’s a silver lining! Amidst the chaos, we’ve decided it’s the perfect time for a refresh. Some exciting changes are on the way, and soon our humble little shop will be looking almost as amazing as our beautiful patients!

For now, we’re running with a skeleton team and limited capacity, so please bear with us as we navigate this temporary chapter. We’ll keep you posted with updates on our progress and when we’re back to full strength.

To everyone who’s called, messaged, or dropped in to check on us – thank you. Your support and kind words have truly lifted our spirits.

To our valued patients, due to unforeseen circumstances, our store will be unable to accommodate eye exams and some glasses collections for the next few days. We are currently experiencing system access issues and apologise if you have already booked an appointment with us for the coming days. Our IT team is working to resolve the issue and we will contact you to reschedule appointments as soon as possible. We thank you for your understanding and patience while we work through this.

Are your kids on screens all day? They might be short-sighted! There are many options available to keep them seeing their best and prevent their eyes from developing high prescriptions. Come in and ask an optometrist about myopia management today.

WE ARE OPEN!! From 9am Tuesday 11th March our normal trading hours are resuming. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you 👀 👓

UPDATE: Please note due to the flooding impacting our staff we will remain closed today as it is unsafe for them to travel. We plan on being open again from tomorrow Tuesday 11th March. We appreciate your understanding and will call to rebook any appointments that were scheduled for today when we return tomorrow. We hope everyone is safe and look forward to seeing you all when we can return.

CYCLONE CLOSURE
Please note we will be open for business until 4pm today (Wed 5th March). We have been instructed to close for the safety of patients and staff from tomorrow and plan to reopen when safe to do so. Reception will be contacting patients with bookings over the coming days to reschedule as necessary.
