This isn’t the usual “just be more active” advice… 👀
New research highlighted by the European Society of Cardiology suggests it’s not just about how much you move, it’s about how intense those moments are.
💥 Short bursts of slightly vigorous activity (the kind that makes you a little breathless) may significantly reduce your risk of multiple major diseases.
Just small moments like:
✔️ Power walking between errands
✔️ Taking the stairs quickly
✔️ A quick burst of active play
🧠 This challenges the usual focus on total exercise time, showing that intensity in short bursts can matter just as much (or more).
⚠️ As always, this isn’t one-size-fits-all. If you have health conditions or are unsure what’s safe, speak with your GP before increasing intensity.
